Whew!
Apologies for another lengthy silence here on the site - things have been massively hectic for a number of reasons - but I've no excuse for not posting today.
The British Fantasy Society just posted the shortlist for the British Fantasy Awards, and I'm delighted to announce that The Ravening has been shortlisted for Best Horror Novel!
The full shortlist is:
Withered Hill – David Barnett – Canelo Horror
The Ravening – Daniel Church – Angry Robot
Among The Living – Tim Lebbon – Titan Books
Bury Your Gays – Chuck Tingle – Tor Nightfire
My Darling Dreadful Thing – Johanna van Veen – Poisoned Pen Press
Feast While You Can – Mikaella Clements and Onjuli Datta – Grand Central Publishing
I've only read the Barnett and Lebbon book so far, which were both stellar; I'm looking forward to reading the rest between now and the awards ceremony in Brighton over Halloween.
The Ravening has been the 'difficult second novel' in some ways - not least in readers' reactions to it - so it's brilliant to see it here.
